February 10, 2010

Brr! It is cold inside the RV today! We just hung blankets over the opening to the cab to see if we could block some of the cold air coming in from there. It's in the 40's outside but very damp--sprinkled off & on all a.m. and we are suppose to get more rain starting tonight & all day tomorrow. Bob walked up to get the mail while I waited for the propane guy (who has never shown up!) and got some chest pain so got a ride back with a choir member. He is feeling fine now but this is the kind of weather that will give him problems if he exerts a bit too much. And we know we shouldn't complain about the weather here when we see the pictures of the east coast on tv!

It's been a lazy day--seemed like it took all morning to get 3 loads of laundry done since all 10 machines were full the entire time we were there but we eventually got done. Otherwise we have talked, read & Bob has been on the computer. He discovered that WORD has a good dictionary & other resources that we had never used before so that was a great find! Some days are good to just slow down and act like the retirees that we are! We are having homemade soup tonight and will continue to just laze about.

Put some new photos of the grandkids on Facebook if you'd like to check them out. We, of course, think they are precious little guys. And in case you don't do Facebook, guess I'll post a couple here --wouldn't want you to miss seeing them :-).

  1. Hi, Sandi and Bob, sorry we've just now taken time to read your blogs. What fun to hear where you've been, what you've done, etc. And we're pleased to be mentioned.

Y'all are staying WAY too busy for retired folks, but looks like you're having a great time. Bob, congratulations on your awards in woodcarving. You are truly a multitalented person--with the carving, the singing, and now the writing.

My parents (Janda's) used to spend a couple of months every winter at Goose Island in their RV, and I have joined them there for spring break a couple of times. I even wear a beautiful piece of wooden jewelry that one of the rangers there made and sold to my mom. So I definitely feel connected to that beautiful place. Glad you got to enjoy it.

Yes, we're going to check on the conditon of the railroad near Machu Pichu before we get reservations for that area.

Y'all continue to enjoy your trip, and we'll check back in from time to time, to see what's going on.

    See you soon.

    Janda and Lyle
